Send an approach view

From the ground, photograph the whole side of the house, including the enclosure edge, gates and the space beyond the pool deck. Include a second view from a different angle if the route turns a corner. A close-up of a rusty cover will not tell the contractor whether equipment can reach the working side. Mention overhead lines and existing fences without placing yourself near hazards.

Ask what the access allowance buys

The contractor should plan safe access and worker fall protection. Ask whether its quoted access is possible with the enclosure in place, or whether another qualified provider would need to remove and later restore sections. Keep those costs visible even when the chimney repair itself is covered by a fixed price. A wide gate on one elevation does not prove equipment can turn into position.

Prepare the occupied space below

Agree who will keep occupants and pets away from the work zone and how the pool, nearby finish and any temporarily opened area will be protected. If a panel must come out, ask who controls access until it is restored. Photograph existing screen and frame condition before the work, and compare the same views after all contractors leave.
